Anyone having an issue with their leather seats? I have an 2017 R Sport with 2500 miles and take a look at my driver seat. I am 5'11" and weigh only 175lbs so I can't imagine why this seat should look like this. Any other issues out there?
Looks identical to mine, I have a little more creasing on the lower seat bolsters as well. Terrible quality leather. My Lexus GS never looked this bad after three years let alone a few months.Anyone having an issue with their leather seats? I have an 2017 R Sport with 2500 miles and take a look at my driver seat. Can you post a picture of the driver seat? Is it black interior? What trim F-pace do you have?I'm 6'6" and 225, have almost 9,000 miles and no such issues. Seats look brand new and someone commented last week that it smelled like a new car.
So, whats been discussed on here before in little detail is that their is an obvious difference between the 'foe' leather and the real leather, what that difference is and how it contributes to wear and tear is unknown, but people with the real leather have a ton more complaints about creasing than those with the foe-leather materialYeah it's a black interior. Basic trim level. I bought it spontaneously as it was in the dealers inventory. It does have the heated seats which are on quite a bit. I'll get a picture posted tomorrow.
Picture doesn't really do it justice. You can see the bubbling and the creasing on the outside bolster. Much worse in person now that I look at the picture. Can we see pictures of all these "bad" leather seats' wear please?
From the picture it looks like your drivers seat is similar to mine; bubbling on the center seat cushion and minor to intermediate creasing on the outside bolster in particular. Im not happy with the amount of wear on mine so I wasn't sure if the picture is making it look worse?I believe it was called Finishing Touch. They spray the interior of the vehicle. Dealer either did it or arranged to have it done by a detail shop.
The FE uses higher grade leather than that found in the lower trims.hello, I have almost 8000 mile sin my face first edition, , in my personal opinion I have use jeans, almost everything and my seats still looks the same, I believe that form is because of the wallet or the change of temperature I don't know, but mine looks good still after almost 8000 miles. I do take proper care of my car as well the interior.
Totally agree, Lexus knows what they are doing when it comes to interior fit and finish. I personally think they do the best interior in the luxury market (excluding high end brands like Bentley and Rolls Royce of course). They are not the most technologically advanced but boy are their interiors pure comfort. Jaguar should really take a note from Lexus book when updating their interiors. On the seats yes, but the bolsters will still wrinkle a bit. Unfortunately, the center armrest in the FE is the same onion skin thin cheap leather that's in the other variants. Mine is peeling already after 8 months and about 8500 miles. My right arm rests on it quite often. The center armrest in my Lexus GS had thick, rich comfortably padded leather. In three years and 34,000 miles, not a single crease or peel.
At least the Germans and Japanese aren't talked about for having used shi**y materials in their cars. If you were to buy a 60 thousand dollar car from any German, Korean or Japanese competitor you would not find the horribly cheap materials you find in the pace. I think its better to not be mentioned then to be mentioned in this case. And I have been an in XF and XE; same materials used across the board (haven't been in an XJ so can't comment). What's that saying again...there's no accounting for taste?...and preference is indeed personal. The problem for me with with the German makes is that all of their cars and interiors, with few exceptions, are soulless...technical marvels and nice materials...but utterly devoid of passion. Same with the Japanese makes. How many Lexus interiors apart from those of current models, are talked about or remembered? They don't come up in any car talks I engage in. And how many Jags other than an F-Pace have you actually spent time in? My guess is probably very few. Nobody does wood and leather better than the British. And one never grows tired of these classic interiors with personality plus. Jag's recent switch to these modern minimalist but classy interiors is a real pendulum swing for them. I think the new F-Pace interior, at least on the FE I own, is special...as do most of us FP owners. But materials and finishes are not top drawer everywhere the eye looks. And they do not hold a candle to the extraordinary interiors of it's stablemate and big brother the XJL. That is an interior design that is hard to beat in terms of making you feel really special every time you get in and turn the key.

I said 60k... so Im referring to GLE, RX, X5. E-class, GS, 5 series. Of course on the cheaper models you are going to have cheaper materials, and from what I've read the C-class leather issues is a one off for MB. Anyway I originally was talking about Lexus and I still believe the materials in their cars are top notch. Whether you like the technology, or you think its boring has nothing to do with how great the materials are.Do a little searching on C-Class leather issues ...chalky residue....I'm sure those owners talk about it aplenty.
My only hope would be if the Leather issues persist my dealer would be willing to work with me on a fix, they have been great so far so I don't see it as a gigantic issue.I'm in love with the Jaguar F Pace but issues like this makes me sad.
I mean I have over 40,000 KM on my Cadillac leather and it still looks as pristine as I've first bought it. Why do we see issues on a more luxurious car like this??
