Got 61k now! Drove quite a bit since I bought it and it still drives very tight. Just afraid that it might have issues soon but for now, it really doesn’t display any issues or even possibilities of one. So I’m just gonna enjoy!

About 40k on mine and doing great. You don’t hear much about them because honestly I don’t think there’s that many out there. They can have problems here and there, but by and large the four-cylinder diesel has been good to us. We are hoping this continues out of warranty. We will keep it until it starts giving us issues emissions wise or otherwise. But I’m sure with jaguar once these things rear their heads it will be expensive.

 

We’re at 58k on the 20d. Bought new Feb 2017. As one of the first, I was in/out of the dealership 2 or 3 times with ICT issues (they replaced the radio finally), and the turbo took a dump and was replaced under warranty at around 24k. Other than that it’s been fine - really solid. I did the brakes/rotors (really good info from folks on this site for dealing w/ the elec. parking brake), changed the air filter, new tires, and followed the service schedule. Sort of coming up to a crossroads as the warranty is finished. I’ve only got 28k on the 30t, but I think I’m going to keep the diesel and trade the 30t for a LR Evoque for my wife next year (she likes those……). We originally went w/ the 30t because I didn’t like that the Evoque didn’t have a sliding roof, but they remedied that in ‘21. Inventory sucks at the moment, so we’re hanging tight for a bit.

 

I have a 2018 certified 20D with 50,000 trouble free miles. The certified warranty is 8 years 100,000 miles b2b. I got it with 8,000 miles on it and have enjoyed it. Averaging 36mpg. The oil change intervals are 20,000 miles but I pay to have it changed at 10,000 intervals. I’ve had diesels before (Ram Ecodiesel) and always change oil under 10,000 miles.

 

Good man... sounds like you are on the right track with a solid warranty to back you! I do the same, 10K changes, and we are happy too. Hope to get long life out of this vehicle...

 

My 2018 2.0d has been at the dealership for a week now. It appears that the turbo charger may have failed but they're still looking it over. Ironically, it's at 59k with a sliver of warranty left but they're covering everything. It started whistling with engine speed but would spool up and whistle after the engine slowed. Also a loss of power. We parked it and had it brought into the dealership. The AC went out during the first few months of ownership but it was fixed right away and no issues since 2017. Oh, the battery failed in 2021, replaced under warranty.
I've been shopping for an extended warranty and I' going with Endurance. It has everything that Jaguar offered before upon purchase but they don't offer an extension. Endurance policy includes Roadside assistance, and partial coverage of maintenance items like battery, brakes, etc... for 5 years/100k miles. I have faith in the Jag and continue to love it, but piece of mind is worth the extra $ for a paid off Jag. I plan to keep it a while.

Didn't realize the battery was covered under the factory warranty. Good to know.

 

How many years and miles are you getting with your extended warranty? And probably the most important question is what does it explicitly cover? The main things that go bad with diesels are the emission system the fuel delivery system, and the turbos. You need to have explicitly in writing that these components including sensors are covered. If they are not your warranty is worthless.These warranty companies are masters at wording things so the very things that go wrong most commonly sadly aren’t covered.
I’m not down in your warranty, I just want you to know what some of the pitfalls are before you invest in it fully….If I could find one that covered truly everything I might consider extending it on my 20D also….

 

A pop over bumps is usually a loose suspension item such as a stabilizer link etc.
They should be smart enough to check this, but all connections from the front struts to and thru all the steering linkages should be checked for loose or worn items…

 

Hello, my car is not 20d but 25d, but engines are the same...Now 136000 kilometers and what to say...let s begin. In 58000 km whole engine replaced in warranty- Jaguar said- it was seized. About 90000 km- thermostat replaced, engine could not reach operating temperature. About 100000 km- oil from small pipe leading to turbo leak, I was on holiday 700 km from home and found big oil leak under the car when refueling on petrol station. 134000 km, one month after Jaguar warranty, engine started make clicking noise, result- new engine needed. Jaguar offered 80% goodwill, because of full service history. That time car was 5 months at dealer because of goodwill took so long to admit. So now I have 136000 km and third engine. My neighbour has the same engine, and in 80000 km also new engine replaced /warranty/, in 110000 km new differential. /8000 EURO paid from pocked, because after warranty/ Btw I changed engine oil and filter every 10000 km, have full service history,I am 51 years old doctor, driving normal, before FPACE I had BMW X5 - 350000 km no problem, Chrysler 300 C 170000 km no problem, Mercedes CLS 320 CDI 237000 km no problem...So, that is my story. Hello, my story continues. 500 km after new engine my DPF clogged, dealer made some cleaning, OK since then. After 2000 km after new engine EGR fail, 1000E for new one. Now, 5500 km after new engine- turbo failed, 5600 EUR is dealer asking for new turbo...I really do not know, what to do now...can not sale the car, because it is faulty in every way, do not want to spent another 5600 E and wait, what next will gone away....
