All this damage , while parked peacefully in a GRVR Approved parking space , all the way out in the lot !!!:(

It just goes to show you ,
that you can take all the precautionary measures possible , to PROTECT your baby ,
but unfortunately , we can't CONTROL Life !!!:geek:
It is what it is , and it will be what it will be !!!;)

Instead of taking summers off like many school teachers do ,
VR has always taught Summer School for the past 20-years !!!
The last two years , she decided to change things up a bit , yet still work !
She works with 1 or 2 special needs kids , in a Food Lion Grocery Store !
The kids usually bag groceries , or walk the isles looking for misplaced items and such !
It's actually a Paid Job for the kids , and VR gets paid to be there for guidance !
Everyday she parks all the way out , in the same end spot , right beside the curb !(y)(y)
I trained her well !;) Bless her Heart !:giggle:

Well , today was just like any other day , until around noon , when VR heard over the intercom system ,
"will the owner of a white jaguar suv please come to the customer service desk" !

The photos you see , are what she walked out to !
Believe it or not , her F-PACE was 2-3 inches straight beside the curb , when she parked it !o_O
What blows my mind , is the fact that the protected side of the car (curb side) , is what got hit !
Fortunately , there was a witness that saw the whole thing happen !
Apparently an elderly woman was backing out of her spot , her "foot got stuck on the accelerator" ,
her suv jumped over the curb , went over the mulch area and over the second curb , and BASHED into the side of our F-PACE !

As you can see , there is extensive damage to the front corner , the drivers door , the hood , inside the wheel well !
The drivers door will not open or shut properly ! It is rubbing the second door !
I know the damage is not as bad as some others on here have unfortunately had to experience , but it still STINGS a little bit !

When the tow truck driver got there , he said he could not believe the damage ! He said it compared to a 40-mph collision !
I was actually impressed with how he hooked the car up , because instead of dragging it up onto a flatbed , he just backed up to the back of our F-PACE , hit a button , and the rear towing mechanism went under the car , and under the tires , and lifted it straight up !(y)(y)
Then he used this portable dolly system for the front tires !
He set the dolly wheels beside each tire , then setup the bar system under the tires ,
and with one crank of a pipe on each side , the front-end lifted straight up !(y)(y)
Our car never rolled or moved the whole time !
It took him all of 15-minutes ! I was quite impressed !

Oh' well , you know how the old song goes . . . . . . . Another One Bites The Dust !!!:(

Gr my friend, so sorry to see this. This hearts my heart. Just be glad that your wife nor yourself was in the car at the time. That is some serious damage for a parking lot accident. Let us know they're going to fix it or have it totaled.

GR, what the heck! Approved spot and the protected side! Amazing there amount of damage from a parking lot incident. That lady must have been moving in reverse. At least everyone was ok and no one got hurt. Did the elderly woman stay and admit to fault? It's a shame this happened. Hopefully they can fix the the GRVR Jag up quickly and make her as good a new.

PS, is that mulch or Stone? I also very surprised there are no tire marks or such in the mulch or stone. She must have not even tried to hit the brake!

1. I know , I know !!!
All this time , we've been parking WAY OUT THERE , just to avoid Door Dings and Scratches !!!
Who would have ever THUNK it ???o_O

2. It was Stones in that area ! Her foot supposedly was stuck or caught-up in the accelerator ,
so she never touched the brakes ! There were slight tire tracks in the gravel !
But after jumping that curb as fast as she was going ,
her suv was probably close to being air-born !
As you can see , the impact pushed the F-PACE over 3-feet sideways !
Vickie's tires were perfectly straight when she parked ,
but both tires were turned like in the first photo after the impact !

P.S. Yes , she stayed !
The Police came and wrote up a Police Report , and gave her a citation for loss of control ,
which the police said is proof that it was her fault , and not ours !

Sorry to see GR-looks bad. I would start picking out colors/options for the replacement.
Thanks , four-walling !!!
Owning a LUXURY Jaguar F-PACE , was a One Shot Deal for us !
Unfortunately , our Income Bracket is not quite the same , as many folks on the Forum !
So , if we did end up having to replace it , we would not be able to do another F-PACE !
Do they just give you Blue Book Value for it , if it can't be fixed ???
If that is the case , then that wouldn't give us enough to put down on a New One !
With our 2017 F-PACE , we got $11K for our trade-in , plus we put another $20K down !
Then , on top of that , we had to buckle-down and make a $850 a month car payment for 5-years !

As I said , it was a One Shot Deal , and also a Dream Come True for us ,
but at this time , we just couldn't afford to do it again !

Well I'm just really sorry to see and hear that, I know what you are saying about this being a dream car fulfilled...
You put everything you had into making this thing your baby. See how the numbers run and maybe you can work out a CPO one in replacement. Just proves anything can happen anywhere, anymore,,,, Best of luck to you...

GR, hopefully, it won't be totaled and from my view I don't think it is depending on how bad the frame is twisted. That is unless you are hoping it is totaled so you can move to something else, or might not want it back depending on the damage. I know you guys don't put a ton of miles on that thing, so I would think it's still holding quite a bit of its original value. I got $46k for my S in trade on the SVR. I would think you should get perhaps at least that if not a little more. I know mine was an First Edition, but yours is probably in a bit better shape due to quite a bit less mileage I would guess. I had 47k on the FE when I traded it.

I know this is not the time to say: "keep your sense of humor", but

keep your sense of humor!!!

Here's hoping that the choices you'll have will continue to see you in an F Pace you'll love.

We're thinking of you.

Jeez GRVR sorry to see this. I hope the damage is all that can be seen, if so then the frame may be just fine and therefore entirely repairable but insurers have their calculators fine tuned.

On the other hand, this is exactly what I previously warned about for one of your "Almost Approved" spaces for ksm. They are open targets for people parked opposite who simply can't drive (which is probably why they parked out there in the first place). I am starting to think that an "Approved label needs to be restricted to "barrier" protected sides. I am sure that skyking would approve of the hardened aircraft shelter (HAS) approach:

Well that totally sucks.
You can do everything right and still stuff like this happens.
I know how badly I felt when some nimrod opened their door and put the tiniest scratch in my week old car.
I can't imagine how badly you feel. Sorry.

I'm sorry to hear this happened. Glad neither you nor your wife was injured.

But this is a great opportunity to remind everyone to NOT attach your foot to the gas pedal with packing tape and then set a 50-pound dumbbell on your foot. You don't want to get your foot stuck on the gas pedal because it never ends well.

AAAAAAUUUGGGGHHHHH NOOOOOOO!!!! 🤯 That SUCKS! Wow if there ever was a "meant to be" moment, there's a classic example when you get hit from the protected side. Unbelievable . I sure hope that the insured doesn't have State Farm or they will probably claim it's your fault that your car didn't jump out of the way.

While we have been lucky with our FPace, I've had what seems to be the record for parking a car in the tullies and come out and the biggest 4x4 pickup on earth is parked next it to be a jerk. Apparently there's a lot of jerks driving monster trucks.

I do feel your pain. About a year and a half ago, I had just taken off from a stop light in my brand new ((less than 4000 miles) Dodge Promaster van and here comes this old guy FLYING through a used car lot, into the street and smashed into the side of me. My van looked like I got hit by a comet. I was Pi$$3d beyond all imagination 🤬. He thought the gas pedal was the brake pedal (he said that). He had just bought the car (a Ford Explorer). Took me 6 months to get the van fixed (needed THAT many special parts) and his insurance co (Farmers) of course wanted to write me a check for about a third of what the final bill was after their "specialist" spent about 4 hours going over what was needed to repair it... yeah buddy you really nailed that one...

Did you have gap insurance for your FPace? There's a REAL good example of why people need gap insurance to protect us from these types of accidents and real world valuation drops. Any chance you'd be happy for a nice detailed one just off a lease? You may be surprised what you can find.

Good luck sir.

OMG!!!!!
I Can't even
I am sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo sorry G
I am thankful Vickie was not in the vehicle.
I hope the at fault driver was not injured.
File your report https://www.flhsmv.gov/traffic-crash-reports/#report
When the insurance adjuster called me with a price he assumed a LOT of things about my F-PACE.
So then we went down a list of options of things he did not include such as LoJack, AEB, Heads Up Display, Roof Rails,Driver Assistance Pkg, Dual Zone AC, Lane Departure,Stereo options, FE, paint color upgrades, wheels, ACC, etc. and the price went up.
Make sure they know exactly what you lost!
They will probably use a company called Autosource and they will compare your F-PACE to comparable vehicles in your area.
If they total the Beauty and you purchased additional warranties, get those refunds.
I REALLY hope this mess works out in your favor and you stick around

WOW, that truly SUCKS BIG TIME!

Glad no humans were physically hurt (emotionally, gut-wrenchingly hurt is, of course, another story).

The exterior damage is not surprising. The body panels are soft aluminum, after all. Granted, that's a lot of force to move the engine side of the car like that.

I'm not sure where in Maryland you are; but I can give you the name of the Jag-approved shop that did my repairs if you like.

Sorry again to hear about the incident.
