Well, I am officially in waiting mode. It kind of happened in a strange way, but in expanding my search outside the 100 mile radius of the Philly area, I happened to contact a dealer that had my exact build in the system. Frankly, I was stunned when I read the Vista sheet. Here is the build I created on the Jaguar site in October, and the build in this dealer's system:

F Pace S
Storm Grey
Black Interior
Roof Rails
Black Pack
Ash Burl veneer
Tow package
Activity Key
Heads up Display
Oyster headliner

Given all of the specificity, I actually believed that the dealer took my build sheet, ordered it and then sent me the Vista sheet.....I simply cannot believe I happened to reach out to a dealer with my exact build preference already in the system. Regardless, this is due to be built on 3/3 and delivered 4/21. I have been dealing directly with the sales manager and he has been a pleasure to work with from his first email....no nonsense and extremely responsive.

I began here many months ago, sparring a bit with Trek about F Pace vs. Macan, until I finally drove both and came to agree with him. I think the real beneficiary of my F Pace purchase will be my almost 15 yr old son, who will be getting my 2012 Evoque next year when he gets his license.

Thank you to all of you that led me to the promised land.....

I am sure your son would much rather have the F-pace ;)
Congrats, this is exactly what happened to me as well. A dealer in Chicago had the exact build that I wanted + the activity key, took a little over a week to be delivered and I was a very happy camper that I did not have to wait two months.

P.S. Do you know what wheels it has?

Has the standard 20" blade wheels. I am not a fan of all black wheels and did not want to go to 22's.....when I say this was exactly my build, I mean EXACTLY. I have aftermarket 20" inch wheels on my Evoque and I am pretty sure they will fit the F Pace.

Nice build. I also have Storm Grey with the Black Pack.

And, regarding the Macan...I can't remember the last time I saw a guy driving one.

Congratz MGluck!

My experience was similar but different. I spent a bunch of time in the Jag configurator and knew that I wanted the driver assist and tech packages. The DA package is only available on the R-Sport or S lines and I found that when I configure an R-Sport and S with the same packages the price difference was less than $1000. So the S it was.

Worked with the dealer to see if he could do an expanded search in the dealer network with the requirements being an Ammonite/Jet S with DA and Tech pack and he was able to find one with a dealer in SC. I waited a week for them to transport it to PA and then put Continental A/S tires on the 22" rims and we were good to go. It has a few options that I don't think I would have personally ordered (22" double helix, convenience pack) but am glad that I have them now that I have the car. I overlooked the convenience pack but remote rear seat release levers and the gesture tailgate are is worth it IMO. And the 22" double helix looks great. I was a little concerned with the ride of the 22" over the 20" but the adaptive dynamics suspension really soaks up the bumps in Normal mode.

Good luck! You're going to love daily living with this. My only problem is that I live and work in the city so I don't get to drive it as much. :(

MGluck, congrads. I know you have been researching for quite while. I assume you did order a 2017. Would you mind sharing what you got for a discount? Curious what they were willing to do at the end of the model year on a order.
Also I did test drive a FPace S over the weekend at a S.Florida dealer. I like the "S" MUCH more than the premium I drove previously. Dealer was only willing to "possibly" knock off $500. I am still looking to the 2018.

Yes, it is for a 2017. I got $2k off MSRP, and hope to get a bit more when I get a quote on having PPF installed at the dealer. I figure I will have much more 2018 information before this 2017 is due for delivery 4/21. Even though I am guessing the 4/21 date will be moved up a few weeks, I am pretty sure we will have 2018 information well before the end of March. So, if 2018 changes are worth waiting for, I pass on the one coming in and go for a 2018. It is hard waiting right now, but I have patience for getting the best F Pace possible.

I would try going to Jaguar in Tampa. They offered me around $2,300 off MSRP for an ordered 2017 F Pace, but their doc. fees were around $800.

Yes I agree we should have 2018 info by March. I am with you in getting best FP, and assume we will see some improvements for the new model year. But you are in a good position to go either way with a order in. I will contact Tampa maybe next month to see what they know about the '18. Other have mentioned decent discounts from them. Orlando & Naples $500 at best.

When I mentioned Tampa, I was talking about 2017's not 2018's. I did have a dealer in the Baltimore area offer $1,350 off an ordered 2018. That is the most I have actually seen for 2018's, but like you say, I am in a good position to make a very informed decision one way or another.

I think those are the best looking wheels of all. They are also very easy to clean, too!

Learned today that my build date moved up a week to 2/24. A nice surprise.
Don't be disappointed if it moves back a week. I started at 3/24...moved to 3/17 and then back to 3/24. I was very disappointed. Lo and behold my vehicle arrives on the TEMESIS which is due to arrive in Baltimore 2/19. The car actually arrived at the port on my build date. My dealer told me he should have the car ready to go 3rd or 4th of March. So it is possible you may get your FP even sooner than you expected.

And with the information posted on the 18 models I am thrilled I ordered the 17 model. Especially with all of the initial issues having been resolved. Since the last 2.5 update I have not experienced the least bit of trouble with my present FP. And the heart attack phone issue has even been resolved.

I would also like to personally thank you for either posting information or asking questions that have been of tremendous help to me over the past 6 months to 7 months.

Confirmed that my S was built yesterday. I now have a VIN and the handover date has been moved up to 3/29. That is good news, but I will be in Chicago on a personal trip between 3/29 and 4/7. So, looks like I will be picking this up in the Boston area in early April. Interestingly the updated Vista sheet had the new color name listed, Carpathian Grey....the first two Vista sheets had it as Storm Grey.

My "honor" of being the longest forum member without an F Pace is going to change soon.
