I can't believe the US config site lists the 2018 Portfolio variant as the most expensive in base price. What is the logic behind this other than... I won't say it. I mean, a 2-liter engine with 4 cylinders and less than 300 HP? For 62K base price? You don't get the S front end. You don't get the recessed headrests. You don't get 380HP. What on earth justifies the price? The base price on the S is 3k less. You get the S front end, the recessed headrests and, best of all, 380 HP.

The *Portfolio* comes standard with *Multiple Packages & Options* , that are NOT on the Base *S* !!!

ADD those same *Packages & Options* to the *S* , and you're OVER $70K !!!>:)

CASE CLOSED !!!;)

As a 2018 Portfolio buyer, I feel qualified to weigh in here:

You're making the wrong comparison.

A Portfolio is a fully loaded Prestige, plus options unavailable in the Prestige (Windsor leather 20 way seats), for basically the same price. If you take a 30T Prestige, add ICTP, comfort seats, 20" wheels, and one or two of the other options, that come standard in a Portfolio, you can actually pay more. I was able to get my Portfolio for under $60k, and compared to off the lot Prestige builds that contained protection packs and other lard, it got me everything I wanted for less. And for me, the extra tech, non-sport Windsor seats, better fuel economy, and $10k in my pocket were > 84 extra HP.

Could not have said it better myself ^^^
People who get the portfolio want the comfort that the Windsor leather seats give you, they do not care about the "S" appearance package and the quicker 0-60 time. If you price out everything that the portfolio offers the vehicle is actually a steal.

I agree, just purchased a used Portfolio and had the option to buy a S, side by side comparison led me to the interior styling and features of the Portfolio. It has the 22 in wheels that really cinched the deal!
