Can't see why anyone would use a plug and a patch for the same hole.Interesting; I've had upwards of 10 tires with plugs, and a bunch more in the sidewall, the hole was too big, or, the puncture in the tread was not vertical. the "not vertical" couldn't be plugged. I never heard of fixing the tire by drilling out the nail hole to make a bigger hole!!!! As for suggesting you need a new tire, and the advice comes from the dealer, what do you expect????
they did actually drill the hole where the nail was.. which I was surprised about.
