It seems like not much is different between the F Paces of 2017 to 2018 except price increases and engines? But on the base trims, everything is pretty much the same?

I was wondering if I should just buy the 2017 model then. This will be my first car purchase. The cheapest 2017 model at my dealership is a NEW 2017 JAGUAR F-PACE 20D PREMIUM 2.0L I4 Turbocharged Engine for 47k.

Also, is a 20% downpayment about right for a new car? My credit score is 774.

Why in God's name would you consider a diesel? Get an S. A V6 that burns GASOLINE and a lot of it.

Didn't finish my post...

Since you are just looking for the best deal on the cheapest model line, just get a 2017 from stock and be done with it. Do not over think it.

Not sure where you are located but it seems there are a lot of MY17 Premiums floating around out there so bargain hard for a good deal. MY18's are expected to start coming in late May so over the next few months there should be some deals. Also as far as a down payment it really depends on what kind of interest rate you can get and what payment you are willing to handle. If your interest rate is low and you can handle a higher payment than some times it is better to put less down and use your cash for other things(possibly an investment that pays more than the interest you are paying on the car). Everyone is different so its tough to make that kind of decision for someone.

Also theres pretty ,uch minimal difference between the 17 and 18 f pace?

There are VERY few changes with the new MY18, so if you can find one on a lot and get a good deal, take it.

Look through the other thread (2017 vs 2018) if you want to see what the differences really are, but most of them are cosmetic (cup holder cover, carpet changes, etc.).

whats a good price on a new f pace 20d premium? if its listed as 47k, is 1-2k below the invoice a good target to shoot for?
In my opinion, $1-2K below invoice would be good because this would be likely $2k-4K below MSRP. What you have to remember is a $47K premium doesn't have many options and that is where the majority of the markup. So usually they don't have as much room to move their pricing unless they are getting incentives from Jaguar. I have heard there are some incentives floating around so you might want to check into it. What you have going for you is a F-Pace with diesel where there is less demand and a MY17 that is coming to an end thus dealers wanting to move them.

I would look into what is about to happen. There are some awesome deals coming down to move the 17's, which are backed up on the lots, and JLRNA want to make room for the 18's. I would look into this strongly, and be smart/patient and you will have a great deal!

I just got offered one from the Galpin Dealership in L.A. for 43k. Wondering if i should try for lower. I know they invoice them for like 40k, but they should have cash incentives for even lower that price no?

Also, the F Pace 20D 4 Cylinder uses NORMAL GAS not PREMIUM gas?
