I don't think so. I know there was a case with Jaguar and it was updated but I don't think its widespread enough where they would have issued a TOPIX on it (but I don't have access to that information either).

I was told Jaguar was going to put it into their system for techs to see, but if you have an issue where your service department says they don't know how to fix it, have them call Wilde Jaguar of Sarasota, FL and the service manager Stephen Golden can probably guide them (or rather the tech who fixed the issue, Jeff) on how to do it.
Thank you for the kind words, Reckon! I am Jeff, the Technician that was able to figure out and repair the concern with your vehicle. I just need to clarify some information though. As far as I know, the repair procedure was not put into their system, we also did not receive any awards from JLR for coming up with a solution for the concern. We do appreciate the Thank You package you sent to us!

I came into work today to a conversation that was printed out and left on my tool box. Appears to be someone in the UK is having this very same issue. I am not sure if they are a member here, or if they just came across this thread on the forum.

Thanks for taking the time to find a fix for this issue. I don't even want to think about what would have happened if I had had one of the F-PACE with rear seat belts that didn't work when we were in the accident. Keep up the good work Jeff!!

Thank you!

The seat belts in the rear will work as they should/as designed. It's just an odd issue, for example, If someone is sitting in the driver rear seat (same scenario if in passenger rear seat) with the seat belt buckled and they lean over as to pick up something from the passenger side floor area. As they return to the upright position, the seat belt will not retract, it has to be adjusted/played with in order to get it to retract as it will get jammed between the two plastic (upper/lower) trim pieces. There is some trimming that needs to be done to both the upper and lower trim pieces in order to resolve that issue.

in your opinion is it due to the extra speaker or should those without the extra speaker keep an eye on it as well?

To be honest, this has been an issue with every F-Pace I've checked. I also haven't checked to see if it only pertained to vehicles with the Meridian sound system. It was more out of curiosity to see if they were all affected. So I can't say for certain if it only applied to that certain model/package. We've only had one concern of this issue, who was "Reckon" here on the forum, and as mentioned, I was not satisfied with letting there vehicle go like that.

I believe every F-Pace should be checked, and/or corrected. I hope I left a good example above on how to check it.

Thanks for coming into the forum yourself to address the issue. I know it's a big ask, but any chance you could take a picture or pictures of whatever needs to be adjusted the next time you get one, and post the shots here? I have a car on order with these seats, and I also have a pair of kids who use backless boosters who will ride in the rear seats from day 1. They are both notorious fidgeters / leaners / slumpers, who I have to remind to sit up every time I look in the rear view mirror. For me, a seat belt that isn't retracting when they sit up again is a day zero fix or a rejected delivery given how my FP is going to get used. I just can't take the chance, because I've never had a car with what's been described in this thread. If I can point my dealer directly at what they need to do proactively I'll feel much better about it.

thanks! My old F-PACE never did that and my youngest was in rear seat and had just leaned forward and was actually turned around (with her upper body) looking out rear window when collision occurred and the seat belt functioned properly and kept her safe :) so I will need to check out the new F-PACE for any signs of catching or jamming

Thank you very much for the fix info.
I had this problem few times already. Will ask my SA check if they can do the trimming for me. If possible can you tell us more details on how/ where to trim? DIY ?

I completely understand your concern. I have two kids of my own. Once I get another F-Pace I will gladly take pics (if time permits) so you guys can address the issue with your dealers.
In the meantime, if you're having this issue you can always have your service dealer contact mine and I can attempt to walk them through it as best as I can.
Please send me a private message and I will pass that information on. Don't want to step on any toes by posting there information on a public forum.

Very happy to hear she was kept safe!

As soon as I get another F-Pace, and if time permits, I will definitely take pics to help aid your dealer in the proper places to trim.
After the repair, we did submit an "EPQR" for the repair. I'm not too sure what ever came of it, though.

Side note, how great is it to have a tech on the forum, not only can we learn from him; but he can certainly learn our inputs as well.

Rear passenger sat belt issue

I just got my car back from dealership. I specifically mentioned the rear swat belt issue and provided info on the repair with data from the forum. However , they could not find any issue and nothing was done. Overall, i am pretty happy with this dealership, and was wondering if anyone knows if Jaguar is planning to formalize the the process for repairing this problem and enabling its dealers to locate the info.

F-Pace SeatBelt Issue

Great news! So, a tech at my dealership was not happy with the Jaguar corporate engineer's decision and decided to see if there was anything else he could do. He actually found the problem and fixed it! Seat belts work as they should, not binding up and retracting on their own as they are supposed to. He sent the fix to the engineer and was actually rewarded and recognized for solving an issue Jaguar didn't think they had! So the fix is in the database and if you have the same problem, if the dealership says they can't fix it, you can refer them to Wilde Jaguar of Sarasota, FL and the service manager Stephen Golden who can definitely provide guidance on how to get it corrected.

Not only is the tech being recognized by Jaguar, but of course I sent a nice little thank you package to him and the service department for getting it all squared away. It was great that they took it upon themselves to try to get 100% satisfaction from their customer!

Anyway, FP is back in my hands with a fully functional back seat now, a fully functional ICTP (that update is amazing - wow, it is so much better than before) and even a fully functional USB connection (no more dropped connections). Seems my FP is pretty much perfect now!
Hi There, I have the same issue with my F-Pace which was replaced due to the seat belt snagging in the trim and not retracting. The replacement F-Pace has the same design issue. The trim fix would be helpful please so I can pass this on to my Jaguar dealer in the UK. Many thanks David

The rear seat belt on the left pulls off track whenever someone uses it. when it does this the belt is useless. When we asked about it we were told that others have complained but the dealer has never said how to fix the problem. We're afraid to let anyone sit in that seat. Has anyone 4else had this problem and were you able to get it fixed?

pull the webbing out of the seat belt completely and then give it a yank to undo the locked belt. If this does not work for you, take the retractor out of the vehicle. Then, using a screwdriver you can manually spin the spool. This will cause the seat belt to slowly retract back into the mechanism.

I have't had that issue with any of my 3 FPaces, but due to the safety concern, I would think your dealership shoudl be very eager to solve the problem for you to cover them legally. Have you talked to the dealership?
