Greetings to yall!
I considering in purchasing a radar detector, but I am confused after reading several threads saying it will false alarm with blind spot monitoring system and won't work if our FP comes with heated windshield.

I live in IL and have an S with blind spot monitoring system and heated windshield.

So I wonder if BLIS, heated front windshield and other system with interfere with radar detector? Is it worthy to get the radar detector? Thank you.

My experience is the f-pace's blind spot monitoring hasn't been an issue. Getting a radar detector correctly mounted so that it's sensors do their thing through the black dot area on windshield is key according to posters with more radar expertise than I have. After first getting an Escort 360 max I ended up buying the Escort 9500ci where all sensors are mounted externally but it is a pricey choice. Another consideration is power source and cabling.

Thank you! I felt the Escort Max 360 is the most expensive radar detector I can take, but I was so shocked to see the 9500ci, wow, but that's a bit too much for me. May I ask how your experience was with the Escort Max 360? Is the directional arrow really necessary? I never owned any radar detector, so I am considering the Escort Max360 and the Escort IX ($500, no directional arrow.) Have you installed a dash cam as well?
Did you hard wired your radar detector? Do you think it will be a problem to do it ourselves instead of going to dealership? Thank you.

I'm very happy with my Passport Max2. No directional indicators, but still a very solid detector. I have it mounted (using the suction cup mount it came with) as high as possible and as close to the mirror housing as possible. The location seems to work fine.

Since my Escort 9500ci was installed a few weeks ago I've been getting what I thought was random "check wiring" error message and beeps. At first I thought it was going over bumps and shaking something loose. Yesterday I finally figured out it was related to auto stop/start. Turned that off and everything was fine. Contacted my dealer and they told me they just figured this out and need to add a capacitor to wiring. The auto start/stop drops voltage low enough that 9500ci thinks there is a wiring problem.

No, my dealer is also an authorized Escort dealer so paid them one price for everything including install.

neither my max360 nor my ci pick up the fpace's own blind spot monitoring. they do occasionally get triggered by other vehicle, particularly 18 wheeler and some other commercial vehicles. not enough to be annoying though and it was a concern of mine before buying a detector.
