In the brochure that I have for the F-Pace, under the "Mirrors and Windows" category, the following comes standard on all models:

"Exterior mirrors – body colour, powerfolding, electrically adjustable, heated, electrochromic, memory with puddle lights and blacked side turn indicators"

What are puddle lights ? I only test drove the car during daylight, so didn't see what this was. Do the exterior mirror lights project an image on the ground ?

Similar to what the Range Rovers have. The Evoque projects a pool (/puddle) of light beneath the door mirrors with an outline image of the Evoque, onto the ground, or the garage floor. It's cool, sort of reminds me of the Batman search-light projecting onto the clouds when I see it, but to be honest it's just a gimmick that you'll probably hardly notice after owning the vehicle for a while. It's kind of a shame that the F-Pace only projects the plain word "Jaguar" onto the ground, rather than the 'leaper' logo, or the 'growler' . . that would have been so much cooler to see, a missed opportunity I think. It's a nice feature though, so it'll give you a bit of a buzz the first few times, if you have it.

Yes, they are a circle of light projected to the ground under the mirror. For a fancy touch, F-Pace's puddle lights say "Jaguar" in the middle.

Sounds pretty cool to me ! They should make an accessory which allows you to swap it for the Jaguar "leaper" logo. Cool nonetheless.

Perhaps I've missed it somewhere but not sure where you are. These things are NOT standard on all models in the US

There is also an approach lighting via remote on all models- dont know what that means. Maybe people who have received their FP can comment.

There's a button on your key fob that turns the headlights on for a period of time. So if you're in a dark place you can see where your car is and if there's any moron carjackers around.

I asked the manager at my dealer (Tampa FL) few months back and he said that this feature is not standard in USA, maybe in Europe.

According to the US brochure, we have an extra model choice with the base F-Pace that does not come with puddle lights. The other four models come standard with puddle lights.

Well, that explains it then - more choice in the U.S ! I guess us Canadians aren't so lucky after all

Just a heads-up before anyone orders this... the puddle lights on the F-Pace are projected from a different spot. These aftermarket ones project from an interior light... so it only projects onto the ground when you swing the door open. The F-Pace's puddle light is displayed even when the door is closed. There may be a kit or something to alter what's projected, but I haven't seen one yet.
