I agree also, the manual may "Cover" all the systems, but it doesn't say any thing about things that say "Trigger" things to work a certain way or if they are alterable, or if this happens, it is because of this..... Also in the setup sections that cover the cars user functions ( Not the entertainment functions...) There are literally very few really adjustable Items. My JEEP has literally at least 6-8 areas to open up on the UConnect display and inside those are anywhere of 2-5 things in each one that are user customizable.... From lighting, seats, climate control, his and hers settings ( Fob1 Fob2) Security features, Suspension, and the like....
I posted last week about how does the power management system works to save your battery on the FP.. it has a section but no explanation...well that's great ! But what does it power down and when? It could at least say something like "IF light are left on, FP will voluntarily power them off in15 min to save battery from further discharge" If I knew it would do this, I wouldn't get excited about my wife mistakenly leaving the lights manually turned on. This is straight out of the JEEP manual:
To protect the life of your vehicle’s battery, load shedding
is provided for both the interior and exterior lights.
If the ignition is OFF and any door is left ajar for 10
minutes or the dimmer control is rotated all the way up
to the dome ON position for 10 minutes, the interior
lights will automatically turn off.
NOTE: Battery saver mode is cancelled if the ignition is
ON.
If the headlights remain on while the ignition is cycled
OFF, the exterior lights will automatically turn off after
eight minutes. If the headlights are turned on and left on
for eight minutes while the ignition is OFF, the exterior
lights will automatically turn off.
How hard would it be to explain something simply like this?
I guess another explanation for it would be... The jeep owners manual is 667 pages long and the Jags is 350 ish. That tells me in the words of the immortal Ricky Ricardo that there is some more "Splainin" to do.......
