Hi all,

Since the last infotainment software update, S21A_21.10.6-676616, (F Pace 2020) the only way to get the voice navigation when using Google Maps from Apple Carplay (iOs 14.6) is to turn off "Play voice over Bluetooth" in the settings of Google Maps. Very annoying since it switches OFF the music.

Play voice over Bluetooth was previously on and it used to fade out the volume of the music.
Tried from a different iPhone and the issue is the same.

Same happens with Waze, Apple Maps and any other navigation apps when using Apple Carplay.

Any hints or help would be really appreciated!

I’m running into the same issue and was wondering if it was because my phone updated to iOS 14.6 or because the upgrade to S21A. Both happened about same time for me.

Was the other iPhone you used on 14.6 as well? They did fix some bugs in CarPlay in 14.6 but apparently have introduced some more.

I also have a problem where pressing the voice command button on the steering wheel seems to crash Siri and it backs down to the Jaguar voice command screen instead.

Yes the other phone is on 14.6 too.
I have updated mine with 14.7 (beta) and same issue.
Like you said both updates happened at pretty much the same time so hard to tell.
Haven't tried Siri but will have a go.

This is a known issue with the latest Jaguar update. We'll have to wait for an update to ICTP for this to be fixed.

I've noticed this too, before reading this post I'd tried the following
Iphone 12 running IOS 14.6,
Iphone XS running IOS 14.5,
Iphone 6 running IOS 12.3

Tried 3 separate lightening cables,
Tried both USB ports in the arm rest compartment.

And confirmed all of these working for turn by turn directions in car play in an up to date ford focus with car play. Also performed a reset in the infotainment Jaguar software (also running S21A_21.10.6-676616 )

I've managed to find a bit of a work around that will let you use google maps.

• Open Google Maps on your iPhone while not connected to car play.
• Click your profile icon in the top right (at the right of the search bar)
• Click on settings
• Click on Navigation
• Toggle the setting for "Play voice over Bluetooth" to off.
• Go back to main map screen
• Plug your phone in and start up car play
• Turn by turn voice direction prompts should now work (on Google maps only)

Note though that it will pause/stop what your listening to every time there's a voice prompt but it's better than nothing.

Also I've booked my car in with the dealer under warranty to have this looked at but not sure if I'm going to be wasting my time, if there's no ICTP update to fix this yet the only thing I can imagine they can do is downgrade the software (not sure if that's even possible).
