My experience with the previous version of the remote app was marginal at best.
The 2.0 version has been much more reliable for me.
After my initial success with the newly installed version, it began to have intermittent success at reconnecting in my garage after shutdown (like the old one).
After some troubleshooting, I changed one setting which seems to have helped.
I changed the location services setting for the app to “always” from “while using“.
I believe the old version didn’t have or allow the “always” setting.
So far it’s working well for me again.
I generally have my location settings to only run “while using” an app for security reasons, but in this case if it helps I’ll make an exception.

Do you have an Apple Watch and if so is the 2.0 app showing up, on it ? I hears That this new version doesn’t have an Apple Watch plug in and to keep that feature you need to keep the old ver on the iPhone

No Apple Watch so no info on that.
I did leave the old version on the phone.

Is it just me, or is it impossible to get past the terms and conditions page when signing up for the app? Does anyone know how to get the box to check? I check the box then it tells me to read the document, so i scroll to the bottom of the document and nothing happens. What should I do?

No Apple Watch app yet, still just the old version which works ok.
OK,
I‘m happy I kept the old on my phone buried in a folder.

I thought I had to put in new information and had that issue. You can always download the other app and input your login information then just login from the new app using the same information. Kind of a long way around it, but it should work. You may be able to just create an account from Jaguars website.

I noticed that the new app correctly shows the subscriptions for InControl Protect and Remote Premium for a full 5 years. (Those of us who were early deliveries had cars that showed 4 years vs 5 because of the late decision by JLR to extend the warranty.) It also shows what seems like a new item for "Pro Services" for Connected Navigation Service, Live, and in-car WIFI "through the SIM card." The subscription for that service is 10 years. How will that work when AT&T sunsets 3G, since we have the older telematics units without LTE.

They just released new updates for both Remote versions. Includes new certs and says that users are required to take the updates.

Whenever I open this app, it constantly says updating and contacting vehicle, I can leave it open for 10 min and this never stops. journeys does update properly, and so far it seems to work at least as good as the old version...

Your experience with the app is similar to mine with my 2017. I could almost never start that car remotely, but the 2019 has been much better. I'm wondering if you have one of those Telematics units that needs replacing. I thought it was only 2017s that had that problem though.

My thinking is that most of the problems (other than bad telematics units) are tied to the JLR servers.
My 2017 remote has been marginal at best and the telematics unit was thoroughly checked.
I see a vast improvement with the 2.0 app version.
Still occasionally get the constantly updating deal, but most times get a connection for remote functions.
Journeys, status, location, range and mileage are always spot on regardless of the last contacted time.
I think they switched or updated their US servers when they brought out the new app version.

New owner here. Just bought a 2017 F-Pace. The wife and I have been trying to download the Jaguar Remote App, but it keeps saying that we need to open the User/Privacy agreements even though we checked that we read them it still asks that we open them. When we do it makes us start all over entering our info and still says we have to open the User/Privacy agreements. So we are unable to even make an account to try and get anything working on the car. Any help or info would be much appreciated.

It is available in the Canadian Apple App store. I was able to download it and it recognized my profile once I signed in. BUT this new app is just as slow as the old app when sending commands to the car. It looks a bit better. No AppleWatch app yet so the old one is still a bit more fun.

More and more frustrated with this. whenever opened always shows reconnecting and never stops. Fuel range shows 64 miles and vehicle has been full for a week. Mileage is off by 600 miles... Journeys is actually the most accurate and probably the least of information I need. Is this something I should bring up to the dealer on my next annual visit in a week? What should I have them check?

Could be an issue with poor reception.

Might be an issue with their servers too. Previously mine was fast to update, but now when I open the app I get the same “reconnecting ...” at the top. The range updates in seconds, and if I click and drag down to refresh the location updates right away. Journeys is also up to date by the time I switch over to it.
remote start is decent, starts in 10-30 seconds

at some point the “reconnecting ...” gives up and it says last contacted 3 days ago.

A couple of things I do with the new version (2.0 on the iPhone) that have made it work better than the previous app.
1. Set location settings to ALWAYS for the App.
2. Don't force close the App. Always leave it running in the background.

The remote functions generally don't work for me if it shows a last updated x minutes ago message. It must say last updated just now.
If it doesn't, go to the Remote tab, accept the warning and let face id open that section. This seems to ensure that it reconnects, but it can take 30-45 seconds.

It's still way to complicated and laggy, but at least it works, whereas the 1.0 version seldom worked for me.
I really think it's the new servers that have made the biggest improvement.
