My quick two cents, Issues so far: Infotainment freezes (some fixed with updates), interior creeks and rattles, speaker vibration/rattle, rear shock creek, rear taillight noise, No upgrade available to Android Auto/Apple car play ( only some early 2017 VIN's have this issue), app always logs out, app doesn't work consistently( in Toronto ) GO RAPS! :D sunroof won't open, then won't close, auto open wouldn't work, had to hold button down, back up Camera on while driving, Back up camera doesn't work, no Bluetooth connect/Bluetooth fail while talking, and finally... last month my AC stopped working stopped working again this week. Had the car for 2 years and approx 12 trips to the dealership in that time.

But its a great car to drive and looks amazing! I highly suggest looking at the 2019's they should have many of the kinks worked out.
In my experience most of your (fair) gripes have been attended to. It should be almost perfect by the time the mid cycle refresh comes around in 2021!

or you ride or die with it well out past the 5/60.
We're hoping to get 12-15 years/250K out of ours !!!;)
Unless of course , it starts costing a fortune to fix things !!! Then I'll just send her on down the road !!!>:)
As easy as we are on ours , I don't see why the next 10-years can't be as wonderful as the first 3-years !!!:D

Not that anyone should be surprised, but at the bottom again.

Wow, you were not kidding. It is literally at the bottom of the list. And Land Rover is right above it.

Sigh......I would have thought Indian ownership could have improved things.

it is better, they are something like 20 to 30 cars per 100 better than they were last year, according to the article I read. Still at the bottom of the list and that is a big problem, but they are improving! Maybe next year they will get out of the cellar.

I have had my Fpace for 2+ years now, one of the last 2017's shipped before the 2018s.

  • Daytime running lights, one does not work while in "Auto", but set to manual on the dial, they work.
  • Sirius occasional won't be available when the car starts up. I have to turn the car off, and start it back up again, and usually there.
Those being my issues, I feel like I have been one of the more luckier ones.

I just completed by JDPower and Maritz surveys for the SVR. I can say my review is a extremely positive one, per what I noted above. Yes some of the SVR assembly happens in a different place, as GR noted, but a lot of the things I had issue with on my 2017 over the 2.7 years I drove it were all primarily things that the different assembly process wouldn't impact. Front diffs, spring noise, ICTP electronics issues, etc.

The SVR nailed all of them from the get go, its a much better put together car overall and the electronics, while not perfect are very good, stable and usable. Better than my wife's 2019 BMW to be honest, I've seen more issues with her electronics than I have with the SVR.

So I feel Jag is addressing these problems, most of them came about by the popularity of the F-Pace and the amount they sold in that first year. They simply couldn't assemble them fast enough, and I think they let quality slip to get them out the door. that's not an excuse, that never should have happened, but it is what it is. Hell they sold as many F-Paces in 2017 then they sold all of their other cars the year prior.

Jag has always had a stigma of quality issues, but I think they are improving and hopefully things will show in a much better light next year when the survey's get done.

With that said, my biggest issue with Jag is the quality of their service departments in their dealerships and the attitude of those service departments to their customers. They need to do better there. Better training and better customer focus at the top of the list.

I'll get off my soapbox now and go for a drive in my SVR, it always brings a smile to my face! :)

echoing your experience with my SVR after a week and a half haha. only issues I've noticed is a strange clicking when turning the wheel more than 30 degrees or so (mostly tight right/left and U turns). not sure if that's a feature or a bug.
The backup camera still sometimes cuts out (3 times now, backing into a spot maybe 20 times now), leaving me with just audible beeps. The S did this as well. putting it in park and then reverse again is a 50/50 shot at getting the camera back. usually have to park and leave it for a bit, then it works at startup.
My bluetooth also still randomly drops (twice in 10 days) where I have to go into my phone, disconnect bluetooth, reconnect to the F-Pace, and then switch the media source back to bluetooth. My 2017 S did this as well, on 3 different phones, so I think there are still some ICTP gremlins in their code, but everything else has been amazing.
All super minor issues, but if they're weighted the same as some Kia's transmission dropping to the ground while driving, then I have a little less confidence in these particular rankings.

My 2017 S also had minimal issues, almost all related to ICTP software updates. one issue with the coolant running low (known issue/recall with the tank) none of the oft-reported creaks or rattles, and 2 random occurrences of the left headlight sweeping left to right at startup, resolved by shutting down and starting it back up - I didn't take it in for either occurrence, but if it had been more regular I would have.

The only time the SVR is not pleasing is at the gas station haha. I'm averaging between 8.5 and 13 mpg with mostly city driving.

I'd be curious to hear more about all the problems that were reported and which ones were actually significant vs software. In my now 2 Jaguars owned, I'd rate the overall quality much much higher than bottom of the barrel...

I love the F pace, and would buy it again is a heartbeat.

Personally, in MY18 I've had about 10 issues, but almost all have been dealt with, except the sunroof....
1.Creaks and cracks, currently sunroof issue, that 'pops' ..driving me nuts while open!
2.noises in the doors, and seat, wouldn't have been fixed had I not added the dynamat to all relevant surfaces
3.1 Ball joint
4.Steering column creaks and massive compression noise
5.2 ICTP issues, several functions do not work, I'm going in for the last update as I still on 18c and I'm not sure about reliability of 19a, considering i don't have any major issues
6.Blower HVAC filtration issue (went in 6 different times to fix) still won't know if fixed until next winter
7.1 Rear brake, destroyed rotor and both were replaced at 8k
8.Tailgate would not close properly, was reprogrammed.

For a new vehicle this was probably too much. What's more interesting is that I almost block these things out because I like the car so much.

Looking to purchase a gas engine fpace . What are some of the common problems I can expect ?
I've had my "new to me" 2017 since January and I haven't had any issues yet. I have the 3.0 supercharged 6 and it seems like a good engine. Really enjoy driving the car and it still gets a lot of compliments. As with any car, I expect a few things to crop up with age, but hopefully nothing major.

IMO, it's always a good idea to check out the forums of the cars you're interested in buying. I always remember that a lot of people post when they have a problem and are in search of answers, so I don't necessarily let that scare me off. I think that's true across all brands, including Lexus.

Good luck with your research!

I am very interested in fpace and am trying to get one. The only concern I have is Jaguar reliability issues.

I know it’s difficult to tell how reliable the F-Pace will be, given it’s too new to have been included in any of reliability surveys. However, Jaguar as a brand finished a disappointing 30th out of 37 manufacturers in one survey I saw somewhere.

What is your guys' experiences?:)
I have had my F Pace or should I say my wife's for a year. It was a 2019 with 20k miles. No issue at all. My other car is a Jaguar XJL and I've had that for several years that has had some issues but no more than my previous cars.
