... I am planning to buy 2017 43000km driving , getting in good price , just wondering how to ignore "Early models bugs" syndrome...
Mine was built in Feb 2017 and has been essentially trouble-free. I have the impression that cars built before that might have a greater chance of having issues. If you are getting it from a dealer then they should show you the service records I would think.
Good luck!

I think the build date is on a sticker on the driver's side door jamb, along with tire pressure advice etc. Ask the selling dealer to read it to you.
Others may have suggestions on whether the build date is significant, and what date they would recommend...

Drive, comfort and performance have been great (2017 R) but disappointed in the electronics. After the latest update, the ICTP is still only working perfectly 95% of the time. The Jag App isn't really an issue with the F Pace, but it's really a pretty sub-par app in terms of responsiveness and reliability, some better servers would greatly benefit JLR's vehicles.

Overall, i still look forward to every moment in this vehicle, the sound and feel are what I love the most. The looks you get from others is a bonus.

Its definitely a love hate relationship for me, love how the car drives, don't like the bumpy ride, workmanship and material should be better for a car in this price range. My car has about a 1000 miles, there is a constant rattle on the passenger side headliner and the driver door latch is sticking. Coming form a Mercedes, I must say I am a bit disappointed in my Jaguar.
Same here, RE noise from headliner. Sounds like my moonroof is not tightly seated. Lots of vibrations, especially wherever a speaker is mounted. If there is any bass in the music, even at low volume, there's a buzz. I'm not happy about the number of times I have been to the dealer.

Having come over from a decade of multiple Audi’s including owning a 2018 Q5 currently, while I do love our Jag FP, I do tell everyone it’s awesomesauce - but it’s not an Audi - to their surprise.

Audi is like Apple. It’s perfect, it’s UI is not customizable and it just works. No rattles. All the sensors are tuned perfect. Exceptional QA! 11/10 ?

Jaguar is like Android. It’s very customizable and actually better in some areas but it’s wonky as heck. You can tell all the engineers that couldn’t get into or stay at VW/Audi go to JLR. They try harder to be noticed but we all just want it to work the first time. The engine & handling is exceptional. I still love my Jag, it’s MORE FUN to drive, I’d buy it again - but regrettably overall it’s no Audi. 8/10?

Glad your experience is great.
But in checking out the Audi forums (interested in the 7 and 8 series), there appear to be just as many complaints as we see on this forum.
My 2017 had software teething problems that are 100% reliable now and has never had a drivability problem. No rattles either.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say our confidence in the FP is growing. Other than a few back and forths with the dealer, by and large , it been very good. Every few weeks my wife visits my daughter and raps 3-400 miles on it at a time. Avgs 38 miles a gallon at 70 MPH. Exactly why we bought it ! I keep up with the DEF, and it has been no problem. Prob going to need new tires in 10 K or so, and I change the oil myself. Hope to keep this record going. if 20D's get heavily discounted because no one wants them, I may be convinced into buying a 2nd one....

Bought mine a few weeks ago and was driving it in the rain and realized the rear wiper did not work, the first thing I suspected was some wires may have not been hooked up. I mean the car was built in a shed so I can't blame the people working on them. It ended up being some wires were never hooked up lol.

I was leery with Jag reliability . . . but in the first 10 months of ownership, I have not had any issues with my 2019 F-Pace. . . . Thank you to everyone who came before me, you have done everyone a great service in flushing out most of the "new car" issues.

Once you accept that the ICTP software is in an extended beta test, and that we're all helping Jaguar get future versions of it correct by bringing our vehicles back in for service, reliability is terrific. I don't feel like I read about nearly as many people having to bring their F-Paces back home in limp mode due to some engine performance issue as I did in either the BMW or Audi forums.

I agree with most of the above. My FP (knock on wood) has been mostly trouble free, save for the Def update being needed so the CEL would quit going on and off, since then nothing though.

Maybe the better question here would be "who is going to either trade in or sell their f-pace when either 5yrs or 60,000 miles is up?

After seeing some threads about 20d engines going down and it costing between 22k and 38k to replace it i gotta admit the thought has crossed my mind. I would find it hard to believe that your FP could even sneeze outside the maintenance department out of warranty and it wouldn't cost you at least 1000.00 to fix.

Have never, and doubt I will ever, keep a car for longer than 4/5 years. Nowadays that is when most factory warranties expire and conveniently is when everything starts breaking... and not simple creaks and rattles that we all have the luxury to complain about but transmission issues, engine issues, serious tech glitches etc.

That is truly the 64.00 question... I'm saying there will be a LOT of FP on the market as their warranty comes up for expiration... The last 18 months of warranty will tell the tale for me. If it doesn't have a whimper of a problem in months 42-60 (I'll never hit the 60K miles 1st...) then it may get to hang around a while longer. But if Emissions issues, DPF issues, or any other chronic and expensive issues start creeping in.. it will be outta here. Mainly because whatever something would normally cost to get repaired on a "normal" vehicle, you can best better bet it will be as least double on this vehicle. I also don't know if dealer perks such as drop off and pick up and loaner cars extend after 5/60 also. You also lose Jaguar Remote then, too…..

I kind of believe there is only 2 roads for this vehicle... You either get out while it still has a little value left, before the market gets saturated with them off warranty, or you ride or die with it well out past the 5/60.

I am very interested in fpace and am trying to get one. The only concern I have is Jaguar reliability issues.

I know it’s difficult to tell how reliable the F-Pace will be, given it’s too new to have been included in any of reliability surveys. However, Jaguar as a brand finished a disappointing 30th out of 37 manufacturers in one survey I saw somewhere.

What is your guys' experiences?:)
My quick two cents, Issues so far: Infotainment freezes (some fixed with updates), interior creeks and rattles, speaker vibration/rattle, rear shock creek, rear taillight noise, No upgrade available to Android Auto/Apple car play ( only some early 2017 VIN's have this issue), app always logs out, app doesn't work consistently( in Toronto ) GO RAPS! :D sunroof won't open, then won't close, auto open wouldn't work, had to hold button down, back up Camera on while driving, Back up camera doesn't work, no Bluetooth connect/Bluetooth fail while talking, and finally... last month my AC stopped working stopped working again this week. Had the car for 2 years and approx 12 trips to the dealership in that time.

But its a great car to drive and looks amazing! I highly suggest looking at the 2019's they should have many of the kinks worked out.
