How do I get my pops and crackles back?!

Ok, so I had the original 2019 F-Pace SVR, that was sadly stolen and written off my some morons. The personality of that car when you had the loud button engaged was soooooo good, particularly lifting when in 2nd or 3rd; the pops and crackles have it amazing personality I loved.

Today I got my replacement 2021 - it’s lively to drive, yes they have refined it, BUT it has lost all of its personality that I loved my SVR for. Does anyone have any insights as to how I can get this remapped to the old mapping and (if it’s relevant) how do I get those amazing pops and crackles back? Jag have cut its nuts off, sadly.
Thank you!

Best way is to get a aftermarket exhaust that then will sound better than the old one

Some folks out here took the resonator that is in the middle off the 21. It supposedly made the 21 sound more like the pre 21 SVR. I do miss the pops and crackles a bit from my 21 as compared to my 19, but the 21 is a bit more refined in many areas just not the exhaust.

I still get crackles and pops to a degree on my stock 21 SVR but I have to be in dynamic sport and they aren’t very frequent unless you know where to find them. A resonator delete seems like your best bet and I will probably end up doing one as well!

Thanks for this! So, not a full exhaust replacement, probably just the resonator then 🤞🤞

The whole car is definitely more refined than the ‘19 I had, but I just loved the split personality that the ‘19 had. I need my pops and bangs back!
If anyone else reads this that has fixed it, please post :)

thank you to all!

the gentleman who did the resonator delete has a video of the sound posted to youtube. He says it sounds way better in person which makes sense because a go pro mic is not equipped to accurately capture loud exhaust noises.

This bodes well! So, it’s simply a case of having those two resonator tubes removed? Really appreciate the post - thank you 🙏

You cut out the resonator and replace it with straight pipes. Just call a muffler/exhaust shop and tell them you want a muffler delete with straight pipes and they’ll get it done for a decent price. Should be no more than $200
The reason there's no pops and bangs is because when you go into dynamic and hit open valves they never stay open. If you want to confirm this just put it into dynamic where the valves open symbol is orange, get out and go shine your flashlight into one of the innermost exhaust pipes. You'll see that it's completely shut. The only time they open up is when you really get on it. With that information, I found a way to disconnect the electronic valve operations thus leaving the valves open 100% of the time. I noticed more pops and bangs in lower rev ranges and a bit of a louder sound. Only thing is, they're only open about half way. I still have to do some more testing to see if I can get them open fully.

I had a 2016 golf R with AWE active exhaust. Basically came with a little remote clicker that you control the flaps, vs letting the car do it. The advantage was that when you wanted quiet mode, you could have it, and when you wanted loud it was all there. I wonder if someone out there makes a control module for our exhaust.

Status, please!
My wife's F-Type was so easy to deal with the exhaust bypass. Not like my F-Pace SVR. The procedure was simply to pull a 5amp fuse (number 15) in the fuse box under the hood and the baffles are then open all the time. No procedure needed with the car to get them open. It sounds awesome, much better than my SVR now and it's only a P450! If you do want to get some better pops and crackles from the SVR you absolutely need to put it in Sport for the shifting. It down shifts a bit earlier and holds those downshifts longer which do result in some pops and crackles with the exhaust baffles fully open using the bypass procedure. Not as good as my wife's P450 F-Type with the 5amp fuse pulled, but probably as much as the 2019 SVR did best that I can remember.
Thank you for responding. I have both the '23 F-Pace SVR and '21 F-Type R; I want them Bad Boys to Snap, Crackle, and Pop big time... I actually don't drive them, they're the Misses. I'll look for that fuse on the F-Type and see what I can do on the SVR.

So yeah, removing the 5amp fuse from number 15 slot on the F-Type works like a charm. Unfortunately, there is no Active Exhaust fuse for the F-Pace SVR  Does anyone know a workaround? I want that puppy to Roar big time... Thanks in advance...
yes. I've pulled the fuse on my wife's F-Type and I made the change you can make to the SVR to defeat the baffles to my 2019 and my 2021. The hard way to do it on the 2021 is right at the mufflers. The easy way to do it is one cable in the Trunk under the spare tire/battery cover. There is a procedure out there here to do both of them. Simply search on SVR and Baffles and I'm pretty sure it will come up.

Kool Beans, I'll search to see what I find; in the meantime, my wife's F-Type R is Roaring like a MoFo
Anybody try unplugging, using the open valve and then climbing either underneath exhaust and disconnecting or via the purple pin in trunk (near spare tire)?? Any feedback, going from 20 to 24 and looking for real life feedback
SVR Beast, I've done both pulling the two connections at the mufflers with my 2019 after going through the baffles opening procedure, along with the wire near the spare tire in my 2021 instead of leaving the muffler wires disconnected and semi exposed to the water like the 2019 was. The end result of both changes is the same, but accessing the one is the trunk is much easier. My 2021 does decent with the pops and crackers, not as much as my wife's FType but they are clearly there if you put the car in Dynamic and then drop the transmission into Sport. When taking your foot off the throttle and downshifting they are certainly there.
Mr DJ, I searched for that post and have no luck finding it. I was going to repost it here. Hopefully, someone remembers the name of the thread and can do that. The connector you need to pull is on the driver side of the spare tire area under the spare tire and the tools carrier. It's also under the hard carpet that wraps around the corner. Didn't take pictures when I did it since there were pics in the original post. I'm pretty sure it was either here I found it or on the SVR Facebook Group.
