Are you continuing to hold the button down until the car starts?
You need to hold the button only until the outer ring completes one revolution and then you can stop holding the button. It should continue spinning until the engine starts.

Everything works on the app except climate function. It will not start the car. Any help?
I’ve noticed that sometimes the app doesn’t show that the desired task has been accomplished, even though it has. I can request a start on my garaged car and I hear it start, but the app times out. Same for lock/unlock and horn and lights.
There seems to be a lag/connection problem sometimes between the car and the server acknowledging the successful completion of the task and/or the server telling the app to display success.

Their whole app-server-car communication system does not seem robust.
On my GMC it reacts swiftly and confirms it’s actions. On Jag app, if you are not with the vehicle, you never know if something or nothing happened. I’d be a lot happier with this vehicle if it just had remote start on the fob..

Found this on another forum and it gives a good overview as to all the processes that have to work correctly for a positive result. My take on the remote is it’s not up to the standards for Jaguar.

From another forum:
“The process is:
1 Your phone sends an instruction to Jaguar's servers that you want to start the car
2 Jaguar's servers send a message over mobile internet to the car.
3 Car runs a number of checks (things like battery level) and if it decides it's safe, starts the car.
4 Car sends a message back to Jaguar's servers that the car is started
5 Jaguar's servers send a message back to you phone that the car is started.

At points 1, 2, 4, and 5 if there are any problems with the internet connectivity, then a message may not get through and either the process fails, or you don't get the correct notification. I've had a few occasions where the car has started but the app hasn't told me that.”

I'm having the exact same problem. Everything else on the app works except the turn on/climate part. It's not intermittent, it just never works. So disappointing for a luxury car. I wish I could help you but I haven't found a solution.

yes, used the remote to start the car and did not need to hold the button as you said. The car started up quickly but this message was still on my app as it was running:

If you look at my previous messages #6 and #8, I talk about the lag in the remote app. Nothing we can do on our part to fix that. It’s the JLR server side that is not up to speed. It’s just a terrible feature that they’ve not fixed in the 6 years of it’s existence. If you have any questions, just look at the reviews in the App Store. They’re absolutely embarrassing.

I had the wrong car on the APP yesterday and started The Jag by accident. Noticed it took forever and then all of a sudden I hear the V8 start in the garage instead of the V6 in the driveway. Usually the F Pace starts pretty quickly. The 2016 F Type is on 2G now that 3G is gone. My 2018 F Pace is on 4G, maybe because I got a new telematics module last year, not sure. As has been discussed, some Paces are 2G/3G.

Quite surprisingly, my remote start works much better since it was downgraded to 2G. Go figure.

I did everything correct but at the time it didn't work. There is a contact us in the app. I tried 5 or 6 times finally they fixed it at their end. Thanks.
