I got a 2017 diesel also. Just recently running into some problems after a few years with it. 56000 on the miles Exhaust filter full first time seeing it. I am in the city So it is stop and go but I do get out on the highway. I stay on top of the def fluid as well. Took it in and was told to drive it like on the other forums. Didn’t get me nowhere. I got up to about 75-80mph and drove south for an hr. 2 weeks before dealership could relook at it. Went into limp mode for a few days and then back to driving normal. exhaust full message still on screen though. On the day I was scheduled for the dealer it started for me and then cut right off. A few times with trying to get it to start. Had to get it towed to jag waiting on them to get back to me. A couple days- week before they can get it looked at. Warranty expired few months back. Trying to see if I got another direction outside of Jaguar. I don’t see too many diesel forums on issues but any advice would be gladly appreciated. Will update with codes soon.

Well if you short tripped it to death and only occasionally got it out on the road your DPF "Could" be toast. While it was running you should have dumped a bottle of Lucas DPF Deep Clean thru it and it may have helped/saved you, but that is hindsight now.

It's a longshot but it "may" be covered under the federal emissions 8/80 warranty, but don't count on it.

DPF's do have a life expectancy, but this is greatly extended if you road trip it regularly. Diesels love to run... Long and Hot.....The way everything is interlaced in this vehicle, I don't think anyone outside a dealership would touch it. Emissions are touchy.
I bought an extended warranty for my 2018 20D and explicitly asked them if this was covered and it was on the platinum plan. Might have been a waste of money, but this fix right here would have paid for the warranty alone.....

I appreciate the reply. I’m still waiting on them to get back to me with the fix. You’re right about outside work almost every shop/mechanic is saying Jaguar might be the best option. I don’t disagree but 1600 just to diagnose it is wild. I get the whole luxury thing I do but just to look at it. I damn near signed up for school to be a diesel mechanic . Now with it not starting I’m looking at more but I love the truck no complaints on my end outside of learning something new with the dpf. Warranties will be your best friend in certain situations. To anyone if you still have a dealers warranty get everything looked at and replaced if need be.
Post your findings when you figure out what’s going on….
