I have about 4200 miles on mine and for the 1st time tonight I get this warning.... Notice it say "No engine restarts in 213 miles. Incorrect diesel exhaust fluid QUALITY detected.

Quality?? this is the factory fill.... SO.... I went to the miles to empty and lo and behold it says as below 213 miles to empty.... Really??
there was no 1500 mile, 1K mile or any other warnings to this point. I have looked at other pictures in other members posts and I see where is says low def and how many miles to empty etc.. but nothing about DEF quality?? Does this make any sense?

I added 2.5 gal and the light is still there, do you need to drive it a few miles before any added DEF registers in the system/display?

What makes me semi nervous is that there was no previous warning and it say QUALITY not QUANTITY... Could the error mean the same thing on a 2018? Should it clear itself after adding some??

That is tough, as most of the time it actually is not the DEF quality. A software patch fixed mine and I haven't seen it since. I have about the same KM as you are now and so far the vehicle has been trouble free. Hope this continues as warranty is over in about 6 months...

I have had this message twice. First time, at 36k miles and again most recently last month. Unfortunately, both times, I had the catalytic converter, injector and DEF sensor replaced. Work is under the emissions warranty (80k miles). Currently at 56k miles and my partner and I are considering dumping it since most likely this will happen again 😭. Other than this issues, it's been a great car for our family and I LOVE driving it.

That seems like an excessive repair, unless that was dictated by the dealer. Most of those components should last well up into 80-100K. I guess if its free, but sounds illogical...
