does anyone else have issues with the Cruise Control not holding the speed set either when going up or down hill?

No issues here - I can feel the braking on down hill sections. I will go 1 or 2 mph above set point before adjusting. Uphill is a bit more responsive - will downshift if needed to keep up.

Unless you have ACC the cruise control will engine brake to a point when going down hill then it will just give up if it is to steep. The regular CC does not have any control of the brakes so there is no actual braking. Uphill isn't so much a problem because the car should accelerate to keep with the preset speed, obviously it could drop a few MPH but it should be relatively close to the set speed.

It's a little slower than most that I've driven, overall it's not terrible but they need to take a MB for a spin and take notes.

mine will easily gain 10 MPH going downhill before I cave and tap the brakes it's very frustrating

Mine too but when going downhill I personally just use the shift paddles to down-shift and slow down to a comfortable speed.

Or you could just use the brakes haha. Some cars are better at engine braking and maintaining the set speed while going down hill while others aren't that great... but no car is able to maintain the set speed if it is a very steep hill (up or down).
I think my gato does perform pretty well at down-shifting to slow down during long downhills. It even has a lot more freedom to down-shift than other cars where the "down-shift denied" message pops up constantly.

my "04 Jaguar VDP maintains exact speed both up and down hill on all the same hills the F=Pace can't so it's a bit of an adjustment:crying:

Did the '04 VDP have all the different Gear Modes (Dynamic , Normal , Eco) ???

Maybe try those same hills in a different Driving Mode , and see if there is a difference !!!

Just a thought ! :)

"Myrtle." the 04 VDP only has Sport mode as an option. I have tried the F-Pace in all modes and they all have issues some more than others

I bought a F pace portfolio model and I noticed that I have this issue while going down hill and car speed keeps increasing. Is yours resolved ? If so, Please let me know how you resolved it.

sadly that vehicle was totaled by a drunk driver 4 months after I made this post.
The replacement F-Pace 2018 S only has this issues on very steep grades going downhill and I down shift to hold the speed if necessary.
