Hi, I took my car, 2017 F-Pace S type, with 85,000 miles, to the dealership because of low coolant light that came on came on. No visible leakage under the car. After tests, they determined I have a leak in multiple places. Leaking from front coolant crossover pipe, water pump, and three way hose coming from coolant reservoir. The warranty is paying for the water pump replacement. The estimate is $2500. This price reflects my out of pocket cost. Has anyone had a similar thing happen? Is this a fair cost of the things that need to be done? Thanks!

I think there is ongoing problem with coolant leaks and Tata doesn't want to cover under warranty. Saying it's the cars age problem. Seems like it happening a lot lately around that mileage mark

On a MY17, I'd figure you were barely within warranty, at best. (I had an early delivery that expired in July, 2021). Seems like you'd either be in or out over the coverage period, so it's odd that they're covering the water pump, but nothing else - unless you're technically out of warranty and the water pump was just a concession. The dollar amounts for the rest of the work aren't surprising from what I've seen in other cases.

I just left the repair shop at 82K miles with a similar issue. My total is ~1500 plus tax. They recommend doing the water pump too, that will add another $600.

Currently at dealership for my six year service. 2017 F Pace S. Have just less than 16 K on the odometer. Was told I have the dreaded coolant leak. Charging $1500 for the repair. I asked for some goodwill help, and I’m waiting to hear. Jaguar definitely has a problem, here, and a recall should be issued.

Update: Also called Jag customer care and explained problem. Jaguar is throwing in $1000.00 into the repair, which I think is decent of them. Guess the squeaky wheel sometimes does get the grease. Lesson: complain and ask for goodwill help.

Same issue 2017 Fpace prestige, low coolant light at 61K miles, no visible leakage on driveway or coming from below car. It was a cracked top hosing coming from coolant and failing lower portion of hosing, usually two seprate replacement hoses. Jaguar updated the hosing to be one part instead of two attached by coupler so with the one piece of hosing they had to remove my supercharger which added $1300 in labor. They said water pump was fine for now and didnt want to replace preemptively. total for hosing and labor and diagnosing issue $2500

My wife has a 2017 F-Pace supercharged leaking coolant. Mechanic that specializes in Euro vehicles told me over phone he'd seen this problem so often on 2017 & >2017 F-Paces that he could pretty much give me a quote without even looking at it..! Clearly this is a recall worthy issue but does anyone know if there's any progress on Jag issuing a recall or if a class action lawsuit has been brought against Jag yet? I rarely take our 2017 F-Pace to Jaguar dealer, however I'm sure Jag wants to keep their "little" known coolant system defects as quiet as possible to avoid a recall. As such, I'm considering going to Jag dealer and making as much noise as necessary until Jag agrees to cover repair costs 100%. Have any/many of you had luck recently (< 7 months) using this approach, or will it just be a waste of time? Thx!

As I stated above, I asked for some "goodwill" through the dealer and was able to get Jaguar to throw in a grand for the repair. Still cost me about $500.00.

I have a 2017with less than 54K miles. Same issue... On phone with brand now - they are confirming i have had all service performed at authorized dealers, but they say there is no recall on this part. My warranty ended 6/30/2022, and the quote for all the work - coolant pipes, water pump, upper and lower gaskets for the supercharger and the electronic thermostat is just over $3900!! Will update if Brand agrees to contribute, but this is clearly a defect that should be covered by the manufacturer.

Brand found no reasons to assist with the repair - just over $3900, What would we need to do to file a class action lawsuit?

My 2017 S First Edition with 34k had the same problem, warranty had elapsed $3400 repair. Jaguar doesnt care, it’s shameful what they charge for these cars and this happens. Also, alternator went bad and oil leak all under 40k. Coolant leak never truly fixed. I just got rid of the car. Completely unacceptable

Stumbled upon this tread while searching for others having same issue. Just left my 2017 F pace at mechanics shop (specializes in Jaguar). He said the leak was at the upper housing which he quoted to fix for $1500. But he is also suggesting changing out the lower heater pipe and coupling (which I believe will involve taking out the supercharger) preemptively since to his knowledge would fail in short order. Basically change out all the plastic parts that are known to leak on this vehicle. Total for that would be $2K plus. Does anyone know if going for this repair is a better option?

What I can tell you is my recommendation is to replace all those plastic parts associated with the coolant leak or else it will continue to leak and it will cost you more with repeat shop visits. I found that out first hand. The service manager at the dealer told me after the third time back for a coolant leak and more money of course, those cheap ass plastic parts should have been replaced when the water pump was replaced and I asked why the hell didnt you mention that to me while you were working on it. It’s because they wanted more money. So save yourself a trip or two back to the shop and being pissed off and just replace the plastic crap that Jaguar puts on these very expensive cars.

Thanks. That’s what I ended up doing.
