Needed to replace 1 sensor.
Manager at Discount Tire suggested I pick up a JLR sensor ($$$) from the dealer to avoid problems he has with his generic sensors. He was only charging labor for the swap.
Triple the cost but if it works, no problem.
Installed and works but battery shows low voltage. Of course.
Ordered replacement, reinstalled, good battery and synced up after a couple of miles automatically.
Moral of the story: even off the shelf name brand parts can’t be trusted anymore.

I picked up Continental TPMS sensors from eBay for my winter rims and they worked perfectly! They are JRL spec'd and I think I got all 4 of them for $150. These things all run at 315/433mhz and just need to be programmed correctly.

I’ve since learned the Continental/VDO sensors are the same as the Jaguar branded sensors. I relied on the Discount Tire managers advice, but I’ll go with the aftermarket units in the future.
