Jaguar Activity Key | 2017 Autoblog Tech of the Year Finalist - Autoblog

Those with the activity key and use frequently, what's your success rate in lock/unlock? Is there a "trick"?
Mine is 100%, a couple of things I've learned;
- key fob has to be in the car, I leave it in center console
- doesn't seem to like anything between activity key and the Jaguar tag, doesn't seem to work through clothing,neither locking or unlocking
- when unlocking, have to press the rear gate button first then rest the activity against the J is jaguar and give it a moment

If you at having problems worth re-reading the manual.

I just used mine four days in a row while skiing.

Agree with @VZX-CO, mine works 100%, too. Also, when not in use, I store my Activity Key in the Sunglass Holder.

Mine works well when I have used it. I did have the decals taken off the rear of the car, except for the leaper, so it takes a sec to find where the J was, but when I do it work fine every time. Great for going to the beach...which we do often in the spring and summer :).

I've used mine for stand up paddling, kitesurfing, and yoga class. It works pretty well, I have about a 90% success rate on first try activation on the "J." I think you have to be touching it and give it a solid second or two to register before it unlocks.

My only complaint is that I wish the strap were a little longer and had a better system for securing the strap end after the buckle. I don't have particularly large wrists and don't have too many notches left on my wrist strap. Fitted over a wetsuit, I'm maybe down to just a handful of notches. One little slider is not enough and it needs to be more robust so the strap tail can't come out either.

My Premium didn't come with keyless entry nor an activity key. So I looked at adding the AK as a way of getting keyless entry.
I am having it installed at my dealer on Thursday. Will update after the install. :)

The *Activity Key* just goes around your wrist ! There is nothing to *Install* !;)
It's not like it's a *Pace Maker* . . . . If it was , then you should have a Doctor do that , not the Dealer !>:)

Have gone paddle boarding at a lake by me and the activity key makes it so convenient. Leave the key fob in the center console (at least its large enough to hold the key fob ;)) activity key on wrist and thats it. It has worked 100% of the time, even after being submerged in water and covered in mud and dust... didn't realize how convenient it would make life.

Just make sure that if you have to fend-off any SHARKS ,
that you remember to use the arm that doesn't have the *Activity Key* on it !!!>:)
