Yes, its a great feature to have. When I go to the beach, I leave my key inside and strap up the activity key to go swimming in the ocean. Works just as advertised. :)

Just out of curiosity, do you leave your wallet, sunglasses, water bottle, and phone in the car too? The idea looks great on paper, but I imagine very few scenarios involve simply grabbing your surf board/kayak from the vehicle and then jumping straight into the ocean without having to worry about your other stuff that would also need to come with you but can't get wet. I go to the gym, snowboard, and play softball and would love to leave the keys behind, but still need other things that end up going in my pocket or locker or bag anyway.

You can leave anything in the car based on your personal situational awareness. You will need your phone more than anything for safety. I leave the phone under my beach towel and next to my beer cooler. I do leave valuable items in the F Pace but hide it for additional layers of safety since the alarm will go off and hopefully provide time to react. Although, if parking "in the hood, I won't leave my gun in the car.

Yeah, I found very few scenarios where I would use it. Hiking/running and football practice would be the best.

FWIT, I went white water rafting in the Poconos, PA yesterday. We were instructed to leave all belongings in the car and to place our keys on random hooks in the gift shop. While my keys were safe and sound upon my return, I did regret not having the activity key option for this perfect scenario (especially since the bus dropped us off right next to my parking spot, but I had to walk all the way to the gift shop and back to access my change of clothes from the trunk).

NOTE: while not the most exciting story, if you replace me with a bikini clad model, I think Jaguar has their next Super Bowl ad!

Activity Key is one of the features making me buy this vehicle (well, almost). I do so many things making me leave my key-fob behind the wheel or in the bike rack rail I should consider myself lucky nobody has ever drove away with my car.
When chatting today with my wife about the F-Pace she mentioned "why not to wear the activity key all the time and just forget about the key-fob?". I think she is onto something - that thing should be an implant. Don't have the vehicle yet but already like they idea of the activity key - way cool!!!

So In theory just leave one key in say the glove box, then wear the activity key at all times? There's only 1 activity key correct? So another driver with a key fob in possession should be able to operate the car even with the 2nd fob in the glove box...although I'm not sure the car can be locked with one fob out and one inside...

I bought the Activity Key. The way I think about it is that for a $400 option I can guard against damaging a $600ish electrical keyfob. I'm planning on using it when I go skiing in the winter. In the past, I'd carry my keys in a jacket pocket, and risk getting them wet or falling on them... damaging either the key's electronics, or myself if I land on the metal parts wrong. This concern goes away with the Activity Key.
I'm a tech-friendly person, but I've also sufficiently evolved to now want to carry around less stuff on me, if at all possible. This does both.

Great question but unfortunately I do not have the answer (being F-Paceless still). Perhaps someone can test and let us know.

I can say that if you leave your key in the car and activate the activity key (pressing the button on the trunk), the other key fob is still active and does unlock the car, though your key fob is still inactivated until you press the button on the trunk again to reactivate it. My wife had happen to unlock my car while I had my activity key active. She carries her key in her purse so that's how I found out.

Side note: I wish the jag made a beep when unlocking or locking he car via activity key. I can't sometimes hear or see the lights flash when the activity key is turned active or not.

Greetings,

This video helps to understand the activity key plus the manual provides additional information.

Best regards
