I've also noticed that when I've put my car into park with the P button to wait in a parking lot, etc.. is it the auto/stop start feature initiating an auto stop when you go into park? that's what I suspect, but haven't experimented to see if it would do it with auto stop/start disabled. the nice thing is, with the electronic gear selector, if you are done driving, just hit the ignition button to turn the vehicle off while still in drive. the vehicle will automatically go into park and shut off with one press.
2021 Park
This may seem silly, but what is the proper procedure for putting the '21 SVR into park? What I have noticed is one of the following two things happens: I pull into the garage, align car to proper location, foot on brake, car in drive and hit the park button. Sometimes the vehicle completely shuts down and sometimes I must still press the engine start/stop button. But there doesn't seem to be any consistency to this - at least not that I can figure out.
I've also tried the same procedure as above, but put the car into neutral before hitting park. Same thing seems to happen - sometimes vehicle completely shuts down and sometimes i must hit the button to turn off.
This is my first Jag so if anyone can help this newbie figure this out, I'd be most appreciative!!

In my head, I had ruled out the auto stop/start because that feature doesn’t fully power down the vehicle under normal use - it just turns the engine off. When I hit park, sometimes it powers everything off and sometimes it doesn’t. It works when auto stop start has activated, you’re in park and you don’t shut off the car with the start button.
It will shut off everything when you unbuckle the seatbelt and open the door. It prevents the car restarting in your garage and wiping out your family. Or you can just push the start button.

I'd like to take this opportunity to again curse whichever chap decided to make start/stop a default.
It is really stupid. Somewhere along the line the car has to drive a city type course and get an emission score. So they make the car shut off so they can score zero emissions while at the "stop light" in the test. That way the car has more wiggle room when the engine is running. It is just "studying for the test" rather than make any real life improvements.
I agree would rather not have Stop/Start, but am thankful this vehicle doesn't also have MDS. I came from a Jeep SRT and because Jeep makes all SUVs, the 6.4l had MDS to help lower its emissions scores across the lineup. MDS was HORRENDOUS and far more annoying than Stop/Start.
