F-Pace SVR at the DC Auto show

So I finally got to sit down in one, feels significantly better than the S and that was without even starting it up. In some kind of weird twist, the one they had at the show has all the options i’m looking for down to the sienna tan interior, it just wasn’t for sale 😕

Bunch of other cars there but who cares haha.

The expert they had there said 2020s would be out soon, including the web build/configuration. No changes planned for the meh grey trim all along the bottom.

@NixMo : Did you do the indoor I-Pace ride? I wanted to; but the line was like 40 minutes long. Too bad as, along with a ride, they gave out a hat, which looked like one of the ones for sale on the website. I just couldn't wait in that line.

nah the line was too long even for it not being that busy. looked like they at least showed you how quick it gets to 20mph, but the space was almost as gimmicky as the land rover one with the simulated offroading. cool concept, but they were going like 3 mph and had 6 or 7 cars on a maybe 1/8 mile loop.
I did see 2 truckloads of I-Paces outside my window the next day though, maybe 6-8 per truck. not sure where they were headed, I assume from the convention center off to the next auto show, just had to take an odd route to end up on my street.

I think the I-Pace in my dealer's showroom on Monday, when I was there, had decals on the sides. I wonder if that car was one of those.

BTW, for the Land Rover display, at the show, I spoke with a guy who helped set it up. I was curious if it was dirt over concrete or what. The guy said that they had 118 dump trucks (somewhere around that number) worth of dirt dumped onto the display. The mounds were all dirt, no underlying hard structure. And the trail outline and mounds followed only a design guideline, a rough idea. The final pattern was done by a guy who just "knew what he was doing." Impressive.
